roof68 is a new comer to the growing art space locations in beirut. they have been open for a couple of months now and have already had finger painting workshops, photography workshops, outdoor plays,…
their website needs more organization of content but still has enough info to get you there: www.roof68.com
note that it took a while to identify the building as there is no sign at the entrance of the building indicating roof68. it is a residential building and you go up the stairs to get to the roof.
the picture is for one of the plays, Mitelna Mitlak. It was outdoor and based on improvisation from end-to-end. More details on Lucien Bourjeilly’s website: http://www.bourjeily.com/

The concept seems great! But you are right their website needs A LOT of work. I couldn’t understand where the place is located from their map!
hi maya. thanks for your comment. it is good to see that art spaces have been recently increasing in beirut over the last few months. unfortunately attempting to get to roof68 took me 30 mins just circling around the place to identify it properly. plus when u walk into the building it is 100% residential with no sign in the building entrance, so you question if you are in the right building as you walk up the stairs and past the doorsteps of people late at night.
anyways, they have nice programs that they don’t mention on their website but do on their Facebook page so consider joining that if such issues interest you.
if u on twitter (yes i saw your i hate twitter post), the beirut twestival is this afternoon: http://beirut.twestival.com/about
How was your book opening ? i was hoping to attend but unfortunately wasn’t in leb that week.
glad to see you are reprinting. all the best.
Thanks for the details! And for the support!
it’s taking me a lot of time.. Hopefully I’ll get to attend other twestivals, and tweet-ups… ^^
I’m STILL trying to like twitter, lately I’m starting to get it a bit better than before
The book opening was great, I didn’t expect so many people to come, i was very happy with it. Thanks for your wishes!
thank you for your comments and constructive feedback guys; we will definitely look into developing the website and signage in a better way.
hope to see you soon back at roof68
cheers,
if u need any help with twitter let me know. once u r familiar enough with it, u really feel its weight and benefit. plus it consumes much less time than blogging. the next time i give a twitter workshop i will definitely let u know. tc.
hi lucien. loved yr work @roof68. was there a couple of days ago for mitelna mitlak. was the ad hoc “judge” in your performance (btw was expecting to attend a play that night not perform in one
for roof68 itself, there is potential and with minor fine tunes it can really show the underlying artwork and hard work put in.

lucien, mabrouk the improvements !
the changes to the site make it more informative and useful to know more about roof68.
a couple of minor things:
* where did the address / map go ? i know it was a bit unclear, but still better than nothing
* anyway to remove the godaddy section on the top 1/3 of the site ?
* i follow you guys on facebok already. would be good to mention your group there as well.
other than that ya3teekon el 3afieh and keep up the good work !
